Car Seats

In Colorado 98% of child car seats are installed incorrectly. This means that children traveling in every community across Colorado are at risk for serious injuries or death because they are improperly restrained or not restrained at all.

Eagle County Paramedics Services has become a Child Passenger Safety Inspection Station where parents and caregivers can go to have their child’s safety seat checked.

The responsibility for proper installation of child safety seats is placed with the parents and other adult caregivers. However, the wide variety of child restraint systems, belt systems and passenger vehicles can make the correct installation of a child restraint system a challenge.

We offer a one-on-one tutorial instruction by nationally certified CPS technicians on the proper use and installation of child restraints. Education about the correct use of child safety seats is a proven safety intervention.

Inspections are by appointment at our Edwards Station, located behind the Post Office in Edwards. Call 970-926-5270 for more information.

Got a Question?

What is EMS?

Emergency Medical Services, more commonly known as EMS, is an essential public service. You can easily recognize EMS when you see ambulances and medical helicopters responding to incidents in our community, but EMS is much more than emergency medical response and transport. EMS is part of an intricate system of agencies and organizations; communications and transportation networks; trauma systems, as well as hospitals, trauma centers, and specialty care centers; rehabilitation facilities; and highly trained professionals —including volunteer and career prehospital personnel, physicians, nurses, therapists, administrators, government officials and an informed public that knows what to do in a medical emergency. Each player in the EMS system has an essential job to perform as part of a coordinated system of care.  —Adapted from NHTSA
