Chief Operations Officer

Are you a visionary leader with a passion for operational excellence in EMS? Eagle County Paramedic Services (ECPS) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Operations Officer (COO) to help steer our award-winning organization into its next phase of strategic growth and community impact.

Position Overview

The ideal COO will have extensive knowledge of EMS (Emergency Medical Services) operations or a related field, paired with a proven track record of leadership and operational innovation. As a forward-thinking leader, you will inspire collaboration, drive process improvements and foster a culture of accountability, empathy and teamwork. You will be instrumental in shaping the District’s operational vision and strategy with a focus on meeting the evolving needs of our community.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage EMS operations with a focus on strategic planning, operational excellence and community responsiveness.
  • Motivate and develop a high-performing management team, fostering an environment of innovation and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure the organization continues to meet and exceed its mission and goals.
  • Oversee process and project improvements that align with long-term organizational objectives.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated expertise in EMS or a similar operational field.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams, resolving conflicts and driving performance.
  • A history of effective operational planning and execution with a focus on strategic initiatives.
  • Familiarity with multiple EMS systems (home healthcare, community health, etc.) and an ability to lead a diverse team of professionals.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience which includes five years in a COO or equivalent role within EMS or a closely related sector.
May contain: truck, vehicle, transportation, and car

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in EMS, business operations or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Knowledge of diverse EMS field operations; Colorado EMS systems preferred.
  • Experience leading high-level teams and navigating industry and community organizations.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
  • Ability to obtain a Colorado driver’s license.
  • Must be a full-time resident of Eagle County within 6 months of starting employment. ECPS offers a generous relocation package.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $165,000 - $190,000 (based on experience and qualifications).
